Las Vegas Bridal Photography with Bridalxoxo
At My MG Photo in Las Vegas, I recently had the privilege of conducting a photo shoot at the beautiful wedding dress boutique, Bridalxoxo. My day had initially consisted of trying to survive the sweltering 110 plus degree days in Las Vegas so the promise of an indoor photo shoot appealed to me in more ways than one! Upon arrival we immediately began structuring our shoot, searching through the variety of available dresses for us to photograph. After finding a suitable match we started off with Karen Hanson serving as my model for the day. With our photoshoot underway we tried to capture the feeling of elation and joy we had from having air conditioning through our photographs and Karen performed excellently and the photoshoot benefited from the feeling of happiness. Weather jokes aside, we were all eager to be able to show off some of the beautiful bridal wear that was available as I do take some personal pride in my wedding photography skills so the opportunity to really show my skills was a treat in and of itself. Despite some unforeseen technical issues we were able to have a wildly productive day that resulted in some of my favorite photographs I've taken in some time.
As the day progressed we transitioned into the outdoor portion of our photo shoot which resulted in yet a few more gorgeous photographs.
I am so excited to share some of these photos with you and hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. I want to express my gratitude for Bridal xoxo for letting us use their location and stock for all the photographs as well as Karen Hansen for assisting me with all of the photography. I'll give a shoutout to my little brother who helped us along with some of the smaller incidentals as well!
Motivation
I have always been drawn towards photography. I had this inexplicable feeling since I was young that I would find my life's passion through the view of a lens. This passion is what drove me towards founding my own photography studio. It's that passion that led me to wanting to photograph the most important moments in people's lives to help them look back with joy on the moments I helped to capture. It's that same passion that drives me towards capturing the very essence of moments through photography. Without this passion towards photography I don’t think someone could truly call themselves a skilled photographer, finding joy and inspiration in the work that you do is one of the keys to success in my mind. Without that drive how could you expect someone to perform to the very best of their abilities in the task you have presented them. Individuals who are looking to hire a Las Vegas photographer are not looking for someone to simply punch in and lazily scan the room with a Kodak. The people who are looking to have a professional photographer come to their event aren't looking for someone who isn't truly passionate about their work. If someone is willing to pay for more than just a cellphone then you understand that they want this moment to be captured right. That photographing this moment creates the opportunity to have those involved truly reminisce with joy at that event. All of this can be done through the view of a lens, so long as there is an equally qualified photographer on the other side of that lens. This is where my passion intersects with the average person's desire to memorialize key moments in their lives. I have the ability to help people look back with a sincere fondness for the event I helped capture. Whether it be weddings, graduations, corporate events or any moment that needs to be commemorated, you can always expect the highest level of detail and effort from me. My MG photo is where my passion intersects with your needs.
Behind the Scenes
Most people only witness the end result of photography, the actual photograph itself, however very few get to witness the behind the scenes moments of what goes into a photography shoot. As soon as a client informs me of what event they wish for me to cover I start planning what materials I will need to bring. From lighting to lenses, I need to make sure that I am fully prepared for any eventuality. Once I arrive I need to set up the actual photoshoot location, ensuring that the entire scene is laid out in such a way as to enhance but not distract from the people or event being photographed. Once the clients are fully prepared, I begin the main piece of the work at hand. The actual photographs are always reviewed by the clients and a joined image of what my experience tells me wi;;l be an excellent shot and exactly what the client whats coincide into a beautiful rendition of photography. By the time the actual shoot is finished my end of the work has only just begun. Between editing and collating photos were able to grasp the best images from the event and highlight the moment in as beautiful a manner as possible. The actual moment of presentation is just one of many steps along the path to helping properly commemorate the events that took place and hopefully having a slightly closer look at the process behind each and every photoshoot you can understand how this passion of mine has taken up almost every waking minute of my life and I wouldn't want it any other way.
Art v.s. Work
Oftentimes when working in an arts based industry you hear about the issues over balancing artistic endeavors with paying endeavors. The ability to work on projects that seem to have less artistic value than others is seen by many to be essential to being an artist if you want to avoid being out of work. I don't like to see things this way, primarily because I believe every piece of work I take up is in one shape or form an expression of art. What that belief entails is that if I'm taking up shooting a graduation then I intend to take it up to the fullest. Truly enjoying one's work allows every job to be an outlet for personal expression and balancing that fine line between mundane and artistic is a tightrope I gleefully walk. If you can't find joy in the work you do then how you will be able to express yourself. You need a medium to reflect and present and I find that the best medium to do so is through photography, both in a professional and personal sense. I find joy in every aspect of photography and love to see that joy in others as they get to look back at these precious times through the lens of the photographs we helped them create.
